The objective of this article is to analyze how a didactic sequence developed for Chemistry Technician
students, utilizing scientific dissemination podcasts as a digital tool, contributes to enhancing their interest
in science topics. This study is qualitative and grounded in the theoretical and methodological principles
of participatory research. It involved 28 students in their final year of a Technical Chemistry course at
a public school in Novo Hamburgo, RS, Brazil. Questionnaires revealed that 90% of the students were
already familiar with podcasts, and over 85% had previously produced podcast episodes. The findings
suggest that podcasts can positively impact the teaching and learning process in Chemistry: 85% of the
students reported an increased interest in science after becoming podcast listeners, and 75% noted a
heightened interest after creating podcasts on Chemistry-related topics. The data were analyzed using
categories adapted from the Four-Phase Model of Interest Development proposed by Hidi and Renninger
(2006), which identified both Situational and Individual Interest among the students.
