The study addresses the relationship between Digital Information and Communication Technologies
(DICT) and experimental practices in Chemistry/Science Teaching through a proposal developed with
a Chemistry undergraduate. This research aimed to analyze the transformations and permanence of
understandings in the formative process of these subjects. The sources of data for the research were the
portfolios of 13 students and transcribed semi-structured interviews with 5 students. The portfolios and
interviews were analyzed according to the guidelines of discursive textual analysis. It was observed that
traditional conceptions persist, which still understand experimentation as the main means of learning and
the teacher as a mere transmitter of content. At the same time, a change in perspective was identified among
undergraduate students, who began to recognize the importance of integrating DICT into experimental
activities, preparing students for a more conscious use of technology. Despite resistance, there is a
growing movement to incorporate DICT into all dimensions of teacher training, which requires an indepth dialogue with different social groups and public policies. The researches ought to be based on a
progressive perspective of education from the Freire vision to understand this movement of coexistence
between changing knowledge.
