This article presents an exploratory case study of the intersection of digital media. The YouTube video
platform was used to find controversial presentations on two topics related to chemistry and human
health: sweeteners and alkaline diets. For the analysis, the most representative videos of each topic were
selected, considering their repercussion and the marked presence of misinformation or disinformation,
which were evaluated after floating viewing. After capturing the argumentative structure of the selected
videos, a dialogue was established with the Artificial Intelligence ChatGPT aiming to problematize
incorrect or controversial information. The conversation with ChatGPT was also paired in an exploratory
way with the objective of evaluating the alternative of consulting for veracity in school activities. In the
dialogue with Artificial Intelligence, it was found that ChatGPT produced responses aligned with the
scientific consensus of our time, according to some review studies. However, this can cause informational
chaos, since YouTubers - who have the trust of their audience - and ChatGPT conclude their arguments
in opposite ways.
