Mulheres na Mecânica Quântica: A Força Feminina em Superposição com a Ciência

In recognition of the Year of Quantum Science and Technology, this article provides a historical and
analytical overview of 18 pioneering Brazilian women scientists whose contributions have shaped the
field of quantum mechanics. Despite systemic barriers and limited visibility in mainstream scientific
discourse, these researchers played a fundamental role in advancing quantum theory and its applications.
By documenting their achievements and contextualizing their work within Brazil’s scientific landscape,
the article aims to emphasize the importance of gender diversity in STEM and to inspire young scientists
— particularly women — to pursue careers in physics and quantum research. This study not only honors
their legacy but also reinforces the transformative potential of inclusive science in building a more
innovative and equitable future.
