Resumo

Fungi of the Aspergillus genus have stood out for being very promising in the discovery of metabolites with
biological activities. The Aspergillus niger species is one of the most important microorganisms used in
biotechnology, as it allows the production of various compounds for use in industries, presenting a positive
biomedical impact, in addition to being resistant to toxic substances, such as metals. In this context, the
present work aimed to evaluate the variation in the chemical profile of the species Aspergillus niger, via
ANOVA-PCA, in a culture medium rich in heavy metals (lead and copper). Initially, an experiment was
carried out, varying the cultivation medium (DB (Potato and Dextrose) and Czapeck), concentrations of
0 and 300 ppm of metals, and aeration mode (dynamic and static). Then, a new cultivation was carried
out, varying only the concentrations of lead metal (0, 300, 500, and 1000 ppm), in dynamic and static
modes and DB medium, for 12 days. The fungal extracts were analyzed by High-Performance Liquid
Chromatography (HPLC) and these data were statistically treated by the ANOVA-PCA method. It was
possible to verify that the metals copper and lead did not have a significant influence on the metabolites
production of the fungal strain Aspergillus niger.
